The ENT and Hearing Clinic for children with Down syndrome

This clinic is an NHS service provided at Manchester Children's Hospitals. Due to a high demand for the service there is a delay for an appointment to see Mr Sheehan.

Some parents have requested to have a private consultation in order to be seen earlier. A private consultation can be arranged with Mr Sheehan at The Alexandra Hospital or Spire Healthcare Hospital, Manchester.

Mr Sheehan offers an extended consultation time with full assessment of the medical needs of your child. Appointments can be offered in the morning, afternoon or evening depending on your preferred time.

Please contact Mr Sheehan's secretary to arrange an early appointment.

An audiological (hearing) assessment can be arranged prior to your appointment with Mr Sheehan. Please contact his secretary to arrange this.

The full spectrum of Ear, Nose and Throat problems are managed in the clinic.

Hearing loss, glue ear, sleep apnoea, recurrent chest infections, nose and sinus problems, and acid reflux symptoms are among the common problems encountered in individuals with Down syndrome.

Mr Sheehan, as a father of a son with Down syndrome and consultant ENT surgeon has a unique understanding of the issues that affect the lives of individuals with Down syndrome.

Mr Sheehan has recently help author a booklet "Down's syndrome and childhood deafness".
